Audio and Video digitisation project
January 20, 2010
We extend a warm welcome to James Enderby, our new volunteer, who has started work on the digitisation of our extensive audio and video collection. The purpose of this project which is funded by the Trustees, is to put this unique sound and video collection of interviews of individuals onto our website. These interviews will add considerable depth and reality to the site. An example is a unique interview with Colonel Carne who commanded the Glosters at the battle of Imjin River, talking about his time as a prisoner of war of the Chinese and how he carved the Celtic cross which is now in Gloucester Cathedral
Edited parts of the sound and video archive will also be used in our IPOD project and will give visitors a chance to hear first hand accounts and experiences of men, who were actually there at particular actions.
