I invite you to join the Friends of the Museum
Established when the museum opened in June 1990 they have raised over £42,000 for the museum. This has been a vital contribution, which has enabled the museum to go on developing so effectively and meant special exhibitions which have enhanced the experience of visitors.
Understandably many of our members have an association with either Gloucestershire Regiment or the Royal Gloucestershire Hussars. However, for others this maybe their first contact with either Regiment and their support and interest is especially welcome.
The Glosters had a remarkable history, earning more battle honours than any other Regiment in the Army and thus influencing the history of Britain on several vital occasions. The Royal Gloucestershire Hussars were a distinguished Yeomanry Regiment who, like the Glosters, form an integral part of the country's heritage. Both traditions continue today in The Rifles and C(RGH) Squadron, Royal Wessex Yeomanry. This Museum tells their remarkable story and makes the visitor far more aware of the lives they lived.
The Museum needs Friends to help with its fund-raising activities - your subscription is the first step, and your support at the social events we organise is another.
The annual subscription is modest and the privileges and benefits of membership are:
- Free entry to the museum
- Regular newsletters
- Invitations to fund raising and prestigious social events
In this Museum we have a jewel in the heritage of Gloucestershire.
